Abnormal spontaneous brain activity in females with autism spectrum disorders

چکیده

Objectives To date, most studies on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have focused sample sets that were primarily or entirely composed of males; brain spontaneous activity changes in females remain unclear. The purpose this study was to explore the neural with ASD. Methods In study, resting-state functional magnetic resonance images (rs-fMRI) 41 ASD and typically developing (TD) controls obtained from ABDIE database. amplitude low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF), fractional ALFF (fALFF), regional homogeneity (ReHo) two groups calculated detect activity. A independent t -test used analyze differences between TD a p- value <0.05 considered statistically significant after false discovery rate (FDR) correction. Pearson correlation analysis conducted social responsiveness scale (SRS) scores local significantly different regions. Results Compared group, values ReHo increased left superior temporal gyrus (STG), while decreased frontal (SFG), middle occipital (MOG), bilateral parietal lobule (SPL), precuneus group. Correlation showed right positively correlated total SRS, communication, autistic mannerisms. Conclusion Spontaneous involved multiple regions related clinical characteristics. Our results may provide some help for further exploring neurobiological mechanism

The Effect of Neurofeedback on Brain Waves in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorders

Objectives: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a group of neurodevelopment syndromes with impairments in social communications and restrictive or repetitive behaviors. Neurofeedback is a new method that may regulate neuro and metabolic function in brain. This study is semi-experimental, with pre and post test.  Methods: In 26 children with ASD, 40 sessions of Neurofeedback were done. Brain...

Social Competence in Children with Learning and Autism Spectrum Disorders

Objective: The present study has been carried out to compare the social competence in two groups of students with Autism Disorder (AD) and Learning Disorders (LD). Methods: This research was a kind of descriptive research with 2 comparative groups. 90 learning and Autistic disorder students aged 10 to 13 years (45 LD & 45 AD) were selected randomly as a statistical sample. For the assessment...

Abnormal Brain Activity in Social Reward Learning in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: An fMRI Study

PURPOSE We aimed to determine whether Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) would show neural abnormality of the social reward system using functional MRI (fMRI). MATERIALS AND METHODS 27 ASDs and 12 typically developing controls (TDCs) participated in this study. The social reward task was developed, and all participants performed the task during fMRI scanning. RESULTS ASDs and TDCs with a social...

Abnormal functional connectivity in autism spectrum disorders during face processing.

Abnormalities in the interactions between functionally linked brain regions have been suggested to be associated with the clinical impairments observed in autism spectrum disorders (ASD). We investigated functional connectivity within the limbic system during face identification; a primary component of social cognition, in 19 high-functioning adults with ASD and 21 age-and IQ-matched control ad...
